We are looking for a male support worker to support a gentleman with learning difficulties in his own family home. The role involves moving and handling, principles of PBS, prompting, working with a team, and taking him out into local community when time allows. The role is situated in a lovely family home in Altrincham, and allows an opportunity to make a real difference to the individual, his family and the wider community.
Aspects of the role include:
- Support with medication, moving and handling.
- Assisting with communication, meal preparation, activities.
- Practicing PBS- experience of PBS highly desirable but would teach if none.
- Mainly prompting but on occasions, some personal care.
- Driving their vehicle to different locations, taking client out in the community.
The role is full time and permanent days, 37.5 hours per week. There is never any Sunday morning and hours are day friendly between Monday to Saturday.
Experience Required:
- Minimum 2 years experience in a Care/Support role
- Due to client needs, male only
- Ideally PBS experience or experience using varied behavioural techniques.
- Full UK driving license also preferred
- NVQ 2 Health and Social Care preferred
