As a Kitchen Porter at Kew Green, you’ll play an integral role in ensuring that our kitchen runs smoothly so that, as a team, you’re creating outstanding, memorable experiences. A role as a Kitchen Porter is the perfect first job for any individual looking to get a taste for what a career as a Chef might be like, in addition to offering individuals with a passion for supporting teams the ideal opportunity to do so.
What you’ll be doing as a Kitchen Porter
- Preparing basic food items from our menu
- Prepping kitchen spaces, including waste management, washing and organisation
- Supporting your Chefs in ensuring that all Health and Safety and Food Safety regulation are met
- Set up and stock food items and other supplies
- Keeping the kitchen clean and sanitised
- Facilitating special requests from guests
- Completing all training to timescales and looking for ways to develop your skills and experience
- Arriving on time, in the correct uniform with a positive, can-do attitude!
What’ll make you a great fit for this Kitchen Porter role
- Where you’ve worked doesn’t matter as long as you have experience working in a fast-paced environment
- You’ll have basic food hygiene
- A great understanding of cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures
- Flexible and able to remain focused on results under pressure and to challenging deadlines
