Overview
Quest Childcare is seeking a passionate and reliable breakfast club and after-school Activity Leader to join our team on a permanent basis from September 2026. This role is ideal for someone who is confident leading a group of 10-20 children enjoys and can deliver engaging, high-quality activities in a safe and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and deliver a varied programme of after-school activities e.g. arts and crafts, sports and games.
- Maintain a warm, welcoming and inclusive atmosphere for all children.
- Ensure the safety and wellbeing of children at all times, following Quest Childcare’s policies and safeguarding procedures.
- Prepare activity materials and set up/pack down the space each day.
- Supervise children effectively, managing behaviour in line with positive behaviour strategies.
- Help prepare breakfast/dinner time in line with food safety hygiene policies and support children during eating.
- Build positive relationships with children, parents/carers and colleagues.
- Keep accurate registers, incident reports, and other required documentation.
- Assist with the overall running of the club, contributing ideas and helping continuously improve the service.
Person Specification
Essential:
- Enthusiasm, creativity and a genuine passion for supporting children’s development.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team and independently.
- Understanding of safeguarding, health & safety, and child wellbeing.
- Reliability, punctuality and a positive attitude.
Desirable:
- Experience working with children in a school, childcare or activity-based setting.
Hours & Contract
- Permanent, part-time role.
- Monday–Friday during school term-time. Breakfast club operates from 7.30am-8.45am and after-school club is from 3:00pm – 6:00pm. Flexible days are considered!
