We are looking for a capable, motivated, caring candidate, of smart appearance, who is seeking a new challenge to join our team as a Funeral Service Operative.
The work is highly variable and requires an individual who can work to the highest professional standards, working both on their own initiative and as part of a team.
The role of The Funeral Service Operative, after training, includes initial transfer and care of deceased from a variety of locations, according to our detailed recording and tracking procedures required within our regulated sector. Also preparation of coffins, valeting of our funeral fleet and assisting the funeral director on the day of a funeral as driver and bearer helping to ensure that all details of the funeral ceremony run smoothly.
Other duties will include upkeep and maintenance of our funeral home facilities and grounds both internally and externally.
Applicants with prior experience should demonstrate an appreciation of how we differentiate our service, and be committed to working to our procedures.
As well as consistency and reliability in fulfilment of all duties, it is necessary to show a track record of making a positive contribution within a team, where each member is encouraged to achieve their full potential in a respectful and supportive team.
Being a confident and conscientious driver with a clean license is essential and for vehicle insurance purposes, candidates must be over 21. Vetting checks may be required. The role can be physically and emotionally demanding and reliable availability for our 24/7 out of hours rota is necessary. Applicants should live within Aberdeen. Detailed. A starting salary from £26,325 depending on experience, along with out of hours payments and pension scheme are offered. 30 days annual leave, including statutory holidays and flexi time scheme subject to the needs of the business is operated. Funeral uniform will be provided.

While the advertised role is full time, a part time role may also be considered (15-20 hours per week as required across 5 days)
