We provide clean and comfortable fully furnished rooms in house shares for adults to develop their independent living skills. Our tailored support for each service user is used to get them back in to work, further education, self employment, social environments etc.
Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide support to individuals in various homes in Birmingham. The role requires a commitment to enhancing the quality of life for those in our housing.
Support workers will be required to:
- Deliver individualised support in accordance with a support plan drawn up during discussion between the service user and their Support Worker.
- Assist service users in taking responsibility of their agreed tenancy and to any specific rules required of them.
- Provide opportunities by which tenants will be enabled to develop independent living skills.
- Know the risks that tenants and service users pose to themselves and others.
- Follow policies and procedures.
- Ensure that the service user is complying with health and safety standards and their rooms are well maintained.
- Using initiative to highlight improvements that can be made in the way we operate and presenting them to management.
Job description Summary
- First point of call for service users assigned to you.
- Record daily contact with service users every 2/3 days.
- 1 hour of face to face support per week per tenant.
- Dealing with individual problems and helping tenant to solve them.
Requirements for this role:
- An enhanced DBS check.
- Experience working with vulnerable adults.
- Work flexible hours (this can be a schedule that you design).
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
- A passion for helping the vulnerable.
- NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Health and Social Care.
- Full UK driving license is required for travelling between properties.
- Must be able to travel to B19, B32, B33
