We are now seeking a friendly, professional and proactive Bartender to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment, enjoys engaging with members, and takes pride in delivering exceptional service. Cocktail experience and previous work in a members’ club are preferred but not essential.
Role Overview
As a Bartender, you will help create a warm and memorable experience for our members and their guests. You’ll prepare and serve drinks to specification, maintain excellent bar standards, and contribute to a positive team environment. A smile, a “can‑do” attitude, and a willingness to go the extra mile are essential. This is a Monday to Sunday role, the club is closed at weekends unless there is a private event booked.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Drink Preparation:
- Prepare, mix and garnish alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to Club recipes & specs.
- Confidently serve cocktails, wine, and specialty drinks.
Member Engagement & Service:
- Greet members warmly and build rapport to enhance their visit.
- Take orders clearly and efficiently, ensuring prompt service.
- Share menu knowledge, including ingredients, specials and allergens.
Bar Operations:
- Maintain a clean, organised and well-presented bar throughout service.
- Follow daily cleaning and Bar DD routines.
- Stock and replenish items, monitor levels and communicate ordering needs.
- Manage glassware carefully, minimising breakages.
- Support the evolution of bar and cocktail menus in line with Club traditions and current trends.
Teamwork:
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, including barbacks and servers, to ensure smooth service.
- Promote Club events to members and support wider departmental needs.
- Foster a positive, supportive team atmosphere and communicate effectively.
Person Specification
Skills, abilities, and attributes
· At least 1 year’s bartending experience preferred.
- Cocktail knowledge and members’ club experience beneficial, but not essential.
- A passion for hospitality and creating exceptional guest experiences.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a warm and friendly manner.
- Resilience and the ability to stay calm and solution‑focused under pressure.
- Excellent attention to detail and pride in personal presentation.
- A team player who can take direction well, use initiative and embrace feedback.
- Ability to defuse challenging situations with diplomacy and professionalism.
- Good organisational skills and a flexible, adaptable approach.
