SOUTH INDIAN SPECALITY CHEF
Duties and Accountabilities
- Prepare, cook and present authentic South Indian vegetarian dishes in accordance with established recipes and quality standards.
- Maintain the authenticity, flavour and presentation of traditional South Indian cuisine using recognised culinary techniques.
- Develop and introduce new menu items, including a monthly specialty dish, to enhance customer choice and satisfaction.
- Collaborate with management on menu planning, recipe development and seasonal offerings.
- Order food supplies, monitor stock levels and control food costs in accordance with company procedures.
- Ensure correct portion control, minimise food wastage and maintain consistency in food quality.
- Train, supervise and mentor junior kitchen staff to develop their culinary skills and ensure adherence to kitchen standards.
- Ensure all food is prepared and served promptly while meeting quality, hygiene and food safety standards.
- Handle customer feedback and food-related complaints professionally and implement appropriate corrective action where necessary.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an Indian Chef or similar culinary role within a restaurant or hospitality setting.
- Supervising experience with the ability to manage a team effectively
- Strong skills in food production, preparation, and cooking techniques.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in hygiene management
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask under pressure
- Leadership qualities with a proactive approach to problem-solving
- Experience in restaurant operations, serving, and customer service is desirable
Salary: £ 42,000.00 (Per Annum)
