We are seeking a dedicated early morning School Cleaner to maintain a clean and hygienic environment within our educational facility. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring that classrooms, corridors, and communal areas are kept in pristine condition, contributing to a safe and welcoming atmosphere for students, staff, and visitors. Previous experience in commercial cleaning or janitorial services is preferred but not essential, as training will be provided. This position offers an excellent opportunity to become part of a small dedicated cleaning team and furthermore an important cog in a local community school.
Responsibilities
- Clean and disinfect classrooms, hallways, toilets, and communal areas according to established schedules and standards
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, and dust surfaces to ensure a hygienic environment
- Restock supplies such as toilet paper, hand soap, and paper towels as needed
- Empty bins and dispose of waste responsibly
- Maintain cleaning equipment in good working order and report any repairs or replacements needed
- Follow health and safety procedures at all times to prevent accidents or contamination
- Assist with special cleaning projects during school holidays or after hours as required
Skills
- Current Enhanced DBS Certificate would be ideal but not essential.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Good time management skills to complete tasks efficiently within allocated timeframes
- Reliable and punctual with a professional attitude towards work
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to cleaning procedures
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a busy school environment
