Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Activities Coordinator to join our team in enhancing the quality of life for residents in our care home. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing engaging activities that cater to the interests and needs of our senior residents, including those requiring dementia care. This role is vital in promoting social interaction, mental stimulation, and overall well-being among residents in our residential care home.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a diverse range of activities tailored to the interests and abilities of residents, ensuring inclusivity for all.
- Foster a warm and welcoming environment that encourages participation from all residents.
- Collaborate with care staff to assess the individual needs of residents and adapt activities accordingly.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff to promote upcoming events and encourage participation.
- Organise special events, outings, and celebrations that enhance community spirit within the care home.
- Maintain accurate records of resident participation and feedback to continually improve activity programmes.
- Ensure all activities comply with health and safety regulations while promoting a safe environment for residents.
Experience
- Previous experience in a similar role within a residential setting is highly desirable.
- Strong background in senior care or dementia care is advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with seniors and their families.
- A compassionate approach towards caring for individuals with diverse needs.
- Proven organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
