Dispenser
Join our dedicated team at Deddington Health Centre, where we are committed to providing exceptional healthcare services to our local community.
We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Dispenser to join our friendly and supportive team. The successful candidate will work in our state-of-the-art dispensary, which incorporates robotic technology.
The position is initially for a minimum of 22.5 hours per week—three full days—with additional hours potentially available for the right candidate.
Duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Accurately dispensing medication as prescribed by healthcare professionals.
- Providing excellent customer service and advice to patients regarding their medication.
- Maintaining accurate records and managing stock levels efficiently.
- Ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations, policies and guidelines.
- Collaborating with the wider healthcare team to support seamless patient care.
- Demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to undertake additional responsibilities appropriate to the role, skills and experience, as required by the practice.
Essential requirements:
- NVQ Level 3 Dispensing qualification. Applicants with NVQ Level 2 and significant dispensing experience will also be considered.
- Experience of working independently within a dispensary or pharmacy environment.
- Ability to follow standard operating procedures accurately.
- Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail.
- Excellent team-working and communication skills.
- A high level of professionalism, with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and customers both by telephone and face-to-face.
- Excellent IT skills.
- A strong commitment to providing excellent customer service.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure.
Desirable:
- Knowledge of EMIS Web.
- Previous experience working in a GP dispensing practice.
Flexibility is essential. The successful candidate must be able to work either full-time or part-time between 8.00 am and 6.30 pm, Monday to Friday. The role will include some 8.00 am starts and 6.30 pm finishes to support the practice’s opening hours.
