We are seeking an experienced South Indian Speciality Chef to prepare authentic dishes and support the effective operation of our busy restaurant kitchen.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare authentic dosas, idlis, vadas, sambar, rasam, curries and regional specialities.
- Maintain consistent standards of taste, quality, portioning and presentation.
- Plan food preparation and ensure efficient service during busy periods.
- Train and supervise junior kitchen staff.
- Monitor stock, reduce food waste and assist with ingredient ordering.
- Develop new South Indian menu items with management.
- Maintain excellent food hygiene, allergen-control and kitchen-safety standards.
Requirements
- Proven professional experience as a South Indian chef.
- Strong knowledge of traditional recipes, ingredients and preparation techniques.
- Experience working in a busy commercial kitchen.
- Ability to supervise and train kitchen staff.
- Good understanding of food hygiene, allergen management and stock control.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English and work flexible shifts.
Skilled Worker sponsorship may be considered for a suitable applicant, subject to the role and applicant meeting all Home Office requirements, availability of a Certificate of Sponsorship and successful visa approval. Sponsorship is not guaranteed.
