Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Senior Care Assistant to join our 15 bedroom care home team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to our residents, ensuring their wellbeing, safety, and comfort. This role involves supervising care assistants , administering medication, updating care plans and ensuring robust documentation. Also building rapport and managing communication with residents and their families. The ideal candidate will possess experience in senior care, and a genuine passion for enhancing the lives of older adults.
Responsibilities
- Deliver personalised care to residents in accordance with their individual care plans
- Supervise and support junior care staff, fostering a positive team environment
- Assist residents with daily activities such as mobility, personal hygiene, and medication management
- Monitor residents’ health and wellbeing, reporting any concerns to the appropriate healthcare professionals
- Maintain accurate documentation of care provided and update care plans as necessary
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic care delivery
- Organise and participate in team meetings and training sessions to promote continuous professional development
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies at all times
- Support residents’ social activities and encourage independence where possible
Skills
- Proven experience in senior or elderly care within a care home environment
- Supervising experience with the ability to lead and motivate a team effectively
- Strong communication skills to liaise confidently with residents, families, and colleagues
- Knowledge of care plans, medication administration, and safeguarding procedures
- Driving licence is desirable for assisting with resident outings or errands
- IT literacy for maintaining accurate records and documentation
- Leadership qualities combined with empathy, patience, and organisational skills

Pay: £13.10 per hour
