A vacancy has arisen within our Hosting and Security Team for an experienced, enthusiastic, and flexible Engineer, with the aim of helping to ensure that Durham County Council provides secure, robust systems for our staff and customers to safely use.
WHAT IS INVOLVED?
The work in the Hosting and Security Team is varied and can include working alone or as part of a team in:
- Implementing, monitoring and supporting datacentre and cloud infrastructure and systems for Durham County Council and Durhams customers, including schools.
- Assist with system specification and design, project management and system implementation for the Service.
- Assist with the monitoring and review of system performance and the production of relevant reports and statistics.
- Provide technical skills and expertise to support projects and areas of work undertaken by Durham County Council ICT.
The role will also help shape the Teams future plans and direction.
We are looking for an individual who has experience of participating in support as well as new projects, both individually and as part of a team. You should demonstrate good communications skills to help deliver excellent, secure solutions and outcomes, by liaising with stakeholders, suppliers, or customers.

WHAT WILL I NEED?
You will need an appropriate qualification in either a public sector or a business / finance related discipline to at least BTEC/HNC/NVQ Level 4 or equivalent and/or have experience of working with ICT systems.
