Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Slinger to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with lifting and positioning heavy materials, ensuring safety standards are maintained throughout all operations. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a background in Steel and factory / warehouse. The position is paid and suitable for those who are organised and reliable.
Duties
- Safely operate lifting equipment such as overhead cranes and forklift trucks to position materials around the works.
- Assist with the organisation and securing of loads before lifting operations commence
- Communicate effectively with team members regarding load movements.
- Conduct routine inspections of lifting gear and equipment.
- Coordinate with other factory personnel to facilitate smooth workflow
- Follow all health and safety guidelines diligently during lifting operations
Skills
- Proven experience in factory / warehouse, particularly in roles involving heavy lifting.
- Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with team members and site managers
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken, to understand instructions and safety protocols clearly
- Strong organisational abilities to manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Ability to work under pressure whilst maintaining high safety standards
- Physically fit, capable of handling demanding manual tasks over extended periods
