As a Trainee Healthcare Support Worker, you will support Registered Nurses in delivering high-quality, compassionate care to patients at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire (UHCW).

Apprenticeship Routes Available
We offer three pathways depending on your age and experience. All pathways lead to a Band 2 Healthcare Support Worker role.
Pathway 1:- Foundation Apprenticeship Route (Ages 16 –18)
8 weeks paid work experience
Year 1: Foundation Apprenticeship (currently £8.00 per hour)
Year 2: Level 2 HCSW Apprenticeship (75% of Band 2 pay)
Outcome: Band 2 Healthcare Support Worker role
Pathway 2:- NEETs (Not in education, employment or training) (Ages 18 – 21)
5 week employability programme (includes unpaid work experience)
8 weeks paid work placement
Year 1: Foundation Apprenticeship (currently 8.00 per hour)
Year 2: Level 2 HCSW Apprenticeship (75% of Band 2 pay)
Outcome: Band 2 Healthcare Support Worker role
Pathway 3: Age 18+ ( Direct Entry – GCSE Maths & English required )
8 weeks paid work placement
Direct entry to Level 2 HCSW Apprenticeship
Outcome: Band 2 Healthcare Support Worker role
