We're looking for an experienced Senior Support Worker or Residential Support Worker ready to step into a Shift Leader role within our therapeutic, child-focused residential home in Hillingdon.
You'll combine hands-on care with day-to-day leadership, helping your team deliver consistent, high-quality support while ensuring young people experience a safe, structured and nurturing home environment.
This is a role for someone who can lead with confidence, communicate well and keep the needs of young people at the centre of every decision.
What You'll Be Doing
As Shift Leader, you'll play a key role in the smooth running of the home and the development of the team.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading and coordinating daily shifts
- Supporting, supervising and motivating colleagues to deliver excellent care
- Providing emotional, practical and consistent support to children and young people
- Contributing to the development, implementation and review of individual care plans
- Maintaining accurate records, reports and documentation
- Promoting safeguarding, wellbeing and positive behaviour support
- Working collaboratively with families, social workers and other professionals
- Acting as a positive role model and helping maintain high standards across the home
- Supporting a safe, structured and nurturing environment where young people can thrive
About You
We're looking for someone who has the experience to lead and the compassion to make a difference.
You'll have:
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent (Essential)
- Previous experience working within children's residential care
- Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills
- A calm, resilient and child-centred approach
- The confidence to make decisions and support colleagues during challenging situations
- A genuine commitment to achieving positive outcomes for children and young people
- A full UK driving licence is preferred
