School Cleaner – S2 Sheffield, London Road Area
£13.45 per hour | Monday to Friday | 3:00pm–6:00pm | Term Time Only
We are looking for a reliable and hardworking cleaner to join our team at a school in the S2 / London Road area of Sheffield.
This is a term-time position, working Monday to Friday during the school academic year.
Hours & pay
- Monday to Friday, 3:00pm–6:00pm
- 15 hours per week
- £13.45 per hour
- Term time only, approximately 38–39 weeks per year
- Holidays are taken during the school holidays when you are not required to work
- Start date: 1 September 2026
- Fixed-term contract for the 2026/27 academic year, with potential to extend
The role
You will be responsible for keeping your allocated area of the school clean, hygienic and ready for pupils and staff each day. Duties will include:
- Cleaning classrooms, corridors and communal areas
- Cleaning toilets and washroom areas
- Vacuuming, sweeping and mopping floors
- Dusting and wiping surfaces
- Emptying bins
- Following cleaning, health and safety and safeguarding procedures
- Working independently in your own area while also being part of the wider cleaning team
Who we're looking for
We are looking for someone who:
- Is reliable and able to commit to the Monday to Friday hours
- Takes pride in keeping their area to a good standard
- Can follow instructions and company procedures
- Works well both independently and as part of a team
- Is happy to adapt to the needs of the school where reasonably required within their normal working hours
- Has previous cleaning experience. School cleaning experience is particularly useful, but not essential
Requirements
- Must be willing to undergo an Enhanced DBS check for the Child Workforce
- Must be able to provide satisfactory employment references
- Must complete required safeguarding and school-related training
- Previous cleaning experience is preferred, particularly within a school environment
- Reliable and able to commit to working Monday to Friday during term time
