Overview
We are seeking passionate, committed, and child-focused individuals to join our residential children’s home. We are recruiting across multiple levels, from Support Worker through to Deputy Manager, and welcome applications from candidates with varying levels of experience within residential childcare.
Our home provides a safe, nurturing, and therapeutic environment for children and young people with emotional and behavioural needs. We are looking for individuals who can build positive relationships, promote positive outcomes, and help create a stable and supportive home environment.
Successful candidates will be considered for the most suitable position based on their qualifications, experience, leadership capabilities, and knowledge of children’s residential care.
Responsibilities
Depending on the role level, responsibilities may include:
- Providing high-quality care and support to children and young people.
- Building positive, professional relationships that promote trust, stability, and emotional wellbeing.
- Acting as a positive role model and promoting appropriate behaviours and life skills.
- Supporting children with education, health appointments, activities, and daily routines.
- Maintaining accurate records, reports, and documentation in line with regulatory requirements.
- Implementing and contributing to care plans, risk assessments, and behaviour support strategies.
- Safeguarding children and promoting their welfare at all times.
- Working collaboratively with families, social workers, schools, and external professionals.
- Participating in shift leadership, handovers, and team meetings.
- Supporting, mentoring, and developing colleagues where appropriate.
- Contributing to staff supervision, performance management, and training activities (Senior, Team Leader, and Deputy Manager levels).
- Assisting with the overall management, operation, and regulatory compliance of the home (Deputy Manager level).
- Supporting the Registered Manager in achieving positive outcomes and maintaining high standards of care and compliance.

Essential Requirements
- A genuine passion for improving the lives of children and young people.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins where required.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- Full UK driving licence (preferred or essential if applicable).
- Enhanced DBS check on update service
Support Worker
- Experience working with children and young people is desirable but not essential.
- Willingness to complete relevant training and qualifications.
- Level 3 diploma in Residential Childcare (or ongoing)
Senior Support Worker / Team Leader
- Previous experience within a residential children’s home setting.
- Good understanding of safeguarding, behaviour management, and regulatory requirements.
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent), or willingness to complete if required.
Deputy Manager
- Significant experience within residential childcare.
- Experience supervising or leading staff teams.
- Strong understanding of Children’s Homes Regulations, Quality Standards, and Ofsted expectations.
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare essential.
- Level 5 Leadership and Management qualification (or working towards).
