At The Bakery Stop, we take pride in serving our local community with fresh, delicious coffee and baked goods every day. As our small business continues to grow, we are looking for a reliable and experienced Accountant to join our team on a part-time basis to help keep our numbers in top shape.
This position is perfect for someone looking to apply their accounting expertise in a flexible, part-time capacity, and would be an ideal role for a retired or semi-retired accountant, a freelancer, or a parent looking for work that fits neatly around school hours. We ideally need someone for between 20 to 30 hours per week. The full-time salary is £42,000 per year and this would be pro-rated depending on hours per week.
Key responsibilities:
- Preparing monthly management accounts to give us clear visibility on business performance.
- Developing and maintaining accurate cashflow forecasting.
- Monitoring profit margins, overheads, and financial efficiency.
- Offering practical financial guidance to help us make informed business decisions.
- Manage accounts payable processes (including payroll), ensuring timely and accurate payments using accounting software .
Experience
- Proven background as an Accountant, Management Accountant, or Senior Bookkeeper.
- Strong understanding of cashflow management and small business finances.
- Prior experience handling accounts payable and general financial accounting tasks.
- Proficient with modern accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, or Sage) and Excel.
- Self-motivated, trustworthy, and able to work independently.
- Excellent organisational skills with keen attention to detail and accuracy.
Pay: £22,400.00-£33,600.00 per year
