Assistant Food & Beverage Manager

We are looking to recruit an Assistant Food & Beverage Manager with a passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences. The successful candidate will be a confident, hands-on leader and oversee the daily operation of a high volume, high-quality contemporary restaurant.
The restaurant is a high quality and contemporary operation, yet due to volume can be a fast-paced role requiring someone who thrives in a quality-driven environment and enjoys leading teams to deliver consistently outstanding service.
The Role
Assistant Food & Beverage Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the restaurant, ensuring every guest receives an exceptional dining experience while driving commercial performance and maintaining the highest operational standards.
You will lead, motivate and develop a dedicated front-of-house team, working closely with the Head Chef and wider management team to deliver seamless service.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the daily operation of a busy, high-quality contemporary restaurant.
- Deliver exceptional guest service and maintain consistently high standards.
- Recruit, train, coach and develop the restaurant team.
- Manage rotas and staff schedules in line with business needs.
- Monitor stock levels, ordering and cost control.
- Drive sales through upselling and team engagement.
- Maintain excellent cleanliness and presentation standards throughout the restaurant.
- Handle guest feedback professionally, resolving issues quickly and effectively.
- Work collaboratively with the kitchen and hotel management teams to ensure smooth service.
- Support the achievement of financial targets, including revenue, labour and gross profit.
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience as a Restaurant / Bar Manager within a premium restaurant or Assistant Food & Beverage Manager within a quality hotel
- Proven ability to lead and inspire a team in a high-volume environment.
- Strong understanding of restaurant operations, labour management and stock control.
- Passion for outstanding customer service and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Calm, professional approach under pressure.
- Good commercial awareness with experience managing budgets and KPIs.
- Personal Licence and Food Safety qualifications are advantageous but not essential.
