Clarion Logic Ltd is excited to recruit a permanent Java Software Engineer
This is an exceptional opportunity for a strong Back-End or Full-Stack Java developer who wants to work on large-scale applications while expanding their tech stack. In this role, you will be given direct opportunities to upskill into new technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain robust back-end systems built on Java and the Spring Framework, working across large and mature codebases.
- Deploy, manage, and optimize Java applications running on Apache Tomcat and/or IBM WebSphere Application Servers.
- Build, maintain, and integrate robust RESTful APIs and third-party services.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code following best practices in Test-Driven Development (TDD).
- Collaborate within Agile, cross-functional delivery teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.
- Contribute to continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) workflows using Git.
Key Requirements & Skills
We are looking for someone with a strong background in back-end Java development who possesses the following skills:
- Java & Spring: Strong back-end development experience using Java and the Spring Framework (experience with mature/large codebases is highly desirable).
- Application Servers: Solid experience deploying and managing applications on Apache Tomcat and/or IBM WebSphere.
- APIs: Demonstrable experience creating RESTful APIs and integrating third-party services.
- Testing & TDD: Strong commitment to Test-Driven Development with hands-on experience across unit, integration, and E2E testing (e.g., JUnit, Mockito, Jest, Cypress, Playwright, Selenium, or Detox).
- DevOps / Workflows: Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines, version control (Git), and Agile delivery methodologies.
Pay: £50,000.00-£52,000.00 per year
Work Location: Hybrid remote in Ilford IG1 1BA
