About the Role
We are looking for an HCPC-registered Psychologist experienced in autism assessment to conduct structured diagnostic interviews and observations as part of our multidisciplinary autism pathway. You will administer standardised tools such as ADOS-2 and ADI-R, contribute to diagnostic reports, and participate in MDT discussions for final formulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive autism assessments using validated tools (ADOS-2, ADI-R, DISCO, 3Di).
- Conduct semi-structured clinical interviews with patients and families.
- Score, interpret, and report assessment findings to contribute to diagnostic decisions.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings with psychiatrists, nurses, and speech & language therapists.
- Provide diagnostic feedback sessions with compassion and clarity.
- Maintain clinical documentation to professional and CQC standards.
- Option to deliver post-diagnostic psychoeducation or therapy sessions.
Requirements
- HCPC registration (Clinical or Counselling Psychologist).
- Formal ADOS-2 and/or ADI-R training (Level 1–4 preferred).
- Experience assessing autism and related neurodevelopmental conditions.
- Strong report-writing and communication skills.
- Awareness of NICE guidelines for autism diagnosis and management.
