About the Role
We are looking to build a reliable and experienced Bank Housing Support Officer (HSO) team to provide flexible cover across our supported accommodation services.
Our services support adults with a range of housing and support needs. As a Bank HSO, you will play an important role in ensuring continuity of support when permanent staff are unavailable and supporting our residents to maintain their accommodation, develop independent living skills and work towards positive outcomes.
This is an excellent opportunity for experienced support workers, housing support officers and other professionals who are looking for flexible working alongside their existing commitments.
Key Responsibilities
As a Bank Housing Support Officer, you will be expected to:
- Provide person-centred support to residents in supported accommodation.
- Complete regular welfare and support sessions with residents.
- Develop and review support plans and risk assessments.
- Support residents to maintain their accommodation and sustain their tenancies.
- Assist residents with housing, benefits, budgeting and access to relevant services.
- Identify and respond appropriately to safeguarding concerns.
- Record all support, interventions, incidents and outcomes accurately and promptly.
- Report safeguarding, health and safety, anti-social behaviour and other incidents in accordance with organisational procedures.
- Work collaboratively with local authorities, landlords, health professionals and other partner agencies.
- Promote independence, choice and positive outcomes.
- Maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality at all times.
- Attend team meetings, training and supervision as required.
- Follow all organisational policies and procedures.

You must also demonstrate a professional, respectful and non-judgemental approach to working with residents.
Essential Requirements
Applicants must:
- Have previous experience in a housing, support work, care or related environment.
- Have a good understanding of safeguarding and professional boundaries.
- Be able to complete accurate and timely case records.
- Be able to work independently and as part of a wider team.
- Have good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Be reliable and flexible.
- Be willing to work across different services where required.
- Have the right to work in the UK.
- Be willing to undertake the required DBS and pre-employment checks.
An Enhanced DBS check will be required where applicable to the role and service.
Bank Working
This is a bank position, meaning shifts will be offered according to service requirements and your availability.
We are looking for people who can provide reliable cover, including where required:
- Weekdays
- Evenings
- Weekends
- Bank holidays
- Short-notice cover
Bank workers will be expected to maintain professional standards and comply with all organisational policies, procedures and recording requirements.
