We are seeking a professional and reliable Truck Driver to join our logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of goods across various routes, ensuring timely deliveries. Duties
- Operate flatbed lorries and other commercial vehicles in accordance with road safety regulations and company policies
- Safely loading
- Plan routes effectively to optimise delivery times and fuel efficiency
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, reporting any issues promptly
- Maintain accurate documentation of deliveries, including delivery notes and logs
- Communicate with dispatchers regarding schedules, delays, or any operational concerns
- Ensure compliance with all legal requirements related to commercial driving and transportation regulations
- Assist with loading and unloading when necessary, adhering to health and safety standards
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or commercial driver, preferably with flatbed operation experience
- Valid UK driving licence with appropriate categories for commercial vehicles (e.g., LGV or HGV licence)
- Demonstrable knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices in commercial driving
- Experience with flatbed lorry operation is highly desirable
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to plan routes efficiently
- Excellent communication skills for liaising with clients and dispatch teams
- Ability to undertake physical tasks such as lifting cargo when required
- A clean driving record and commitment to safe driving practices
