Groundworker / Steel Building & Cladding Operative
We are looking for an experienced and practical Groundworker / Steel Building & Cladding Operative to join our team.
This is a varied, hands-on role working predominantly on industrial and agricultural buildings and sites within the local area. The work will include groundworks, steel building erection, cladding, installation work and general site maintenance, with some workshop-based work when required.
The Role
- General groundworks and site preparation
- Concrete bases, pads and foundations
- Drainage, ducting and excavation works
- Steel framed industrial and agricultural building erection
- Installation and replacement of roof and wall cladding
- Installation of fabricated steelwork, barriers, handrails and other metalwork
- Building repairs, alterations and maintenance
- Operating plant and machinery where suitably trained
- Assisting with fabrication and general workshop work when required
- Working on a wide variety of projects from smaller repair jobs through to complete building projects
Experience & Skills
We are looking for someone who:
- Has previous experience in groundworks, agricultural or industrial construction
- Has experience with steel framed buildings and/or cladding
- Is confident using hand and power tools
- Can work from drawings, measurements and instructions
- Is practical and able to solve problems on site
- Can work independently as well as part of a team
- Is flexible and willing to turn their hand to different types of work
- Takes pride in producing a good standard of work
Experience operating excavators, telehandlers and MEWPs would be an advantage.
A full UK driving licence is required.
This position would suit someone looking for a varied role where no two jobs are the same, working across industrial and agricultural sites with a mixture of groundworks, steel erection, cladding, installation and workshop work.
