Accounts Assistant
About the Role
We are looking for an Accounts Assistant to join our finance team. This is a varied and hands-on role, working across multiple successful and growing businesses operating primarily within the fire safety sector.
This is a role supporting day-to-day accounting activities across multiple companies. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the smooth running of the finance function.

Key Responsibilities
- Process purchase and sales ledger transactions
- Perform bank reconciliations
- Manage accounts payable and receivable
- Assist with month-end processes
- Post journals and maintain the general ledger
- Support credit control activities
- Liaise with internal teams and external suppliers
Requirements
- Experience in an accounts or finance role
- Understanding of core accounting principles (debits and credits)
- Experience posting journals
- Strong Excel skills (including pivot tables and VLOOKUP)
- High attention to detail
- Strong organisational skills and ability to manage workload independently
- Good communication skills
Desirable
- Experience with Sage (or similar accounting software)
- AAT qualified or currently studying
- Experience working across multiple businesses or entities
Role Details
Location: Four Ashes, Wolverhampton
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm
Working Pattern: Full-time, office-based
Salary £26,000 – £28,000 (depending on experience)
