Mobile Cervical Screening Driver & Community Support Worker
12 month Fixed-Term Contract
24 hours per week
Salary: £15 per hour
Base: Dudley, Sandwell, Walsall, Wolverhampton
Starting Date: Immediate start
We are looking for a reliable, friendly and organised individual to support our Mobile Cervical Screening Service. This exciting role combines professional driving with community engagement, helping us improve access to cervical screening and encourage women to attend this life-saving test.
You will collect the mobile screening unit from its base, transport it safely to clinic locations, prepare the vehicle for the day's clinics, engage with members of the public about cancer awareness and cervical screening, and ensure the unit is cleaned and returned safely after each session.
Main duties
- Drive the mobile screening unit to and from clinic locations.
- Carry out vehicle checks and ensure the van is roadworthy.
- Prepare and clean the unit before and after each clinic.
- Promote cervical screening and raise awareness of cancer prevention with members of the public.
- Support the smooth running of community clinics.
- Arrange or coordinate routine servicing and maintenance.
- Monitor equipment, including the generator (where applicable).

About you
Essential:
- Full UK driving licence with Category C1 entitlement.
- Excellent driving record.
- Confident communicating with members of the public.
- Able to work independently.
- Good organisational skills.
- Comfortable undertaking cleaning and basic vehicle checks.
- Flexible to travel across the service area.
Desirable:
- Experience operating or maintaining generators.
- Experience working in healthcare or community services.
- Experience driving larger vehicles.
