Band 5 -Rotational Occupational Therapist
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a newly qualified and motivated Occupational Therapist to join our adult acute in-patient Band 5 rotation based at NMUH which covers the following clinical areas:
Medical Specialities
Orthopaedic/surgery
Acute Medicine for Older people
Acute Stroke Unit
Admission Avoidance Team – covering Emergency Department and 0-48 hours length of stay.
Candidates will need the skills and ability to cope with a challenging and fast paced environment.
The Occupational Therapy Service is part of the integrated Therapies Service and staff benefit from a supportive environment and excellent learning opportunities though collaborative care team working.
The successful post holder will be required to participate in seven day working rota.
To provide occupational therapy assessment and intervention to all patients referred in the area of work.
To be an active member of the multidisciplinary team. To participate in clinical projects, service developments, audits and service reviews as agreed and supported by the Clinical Services Lead OT
To actively participate in the available rotations.
To communicate effectively with the members of the multidisciplinary
Team and other agencies on assessments, treatment plans,
interventions and progress of patients
To be responsible for an allocated clinical caseload and provide
Occupational Therapy (OT) assessment, treatment and planned
intervention for those patients as a part of the multidisciplinary team.
To administer specialist, standardised and or/ or structured
assessments with patients on allocated caseload and interpret the
results, to facilitate effective treatment and care planning by the
multidisciplinary team.
