Technical Manager – Nairn (Part-Time)
Are you passionate about food quality, safety, and innovation? Grahams’s the Family Dairy are looking to recruit a Technical Manager to lead our technical operations and uphold the highest standards across our expanding range of dairy products.
Reporting to the Site General Manager with support from the Group Head of Technical, you’ll play a key role in ensuring our products meet rigorous quality and safety standards. You’ll oversee technical processes, lead audits, and support our Quality team in maintaining and developing our Quality Management Systems.
This is a hands-on role with real impact across our retail and middle-ground business.
Responsibilities
· Lead and manage the site’s Food Safety & Quality Management Systems, ensuring compliance with BRCGS, regulatory and customer requirements
· Act as the site lead for food safety, quality, legality and authenticity
· Drive continuous improvement of processes, procedures and systems
· Lead and maintain the internal audit programme, including root cause analysis and corrective/preventative actions
· Oversee HACCP systems as team leader, ensuring effective implementation and maintenance
· Lead external audits and provide technical expertise
· Manage, coach and develop the technical/quality team
· Promote and support a strong food safety culture across the site
· Monitor and report on quality performance (KPIs, complaints, non-conformances) and lead review meetings
· Oversee laboratory operations, including performance, cost control and compliance with testing requirements
· Analyse and communicate lab results, ensuring timely investigation and resolution of out-of-spec findings
· Manage retailer communications, including scorecards, benchmarking and industry engagement
Ideally, the successful candidate will hold a degree in Food Science, Manufacturing, or a related discipline, or bring proven experience in a technical or quality role within the food or dairy industry.
A strong working knowledge of BRC standards, HACCP principles, and food safety regulations is essential.
