This job is initially part time of 3 days per week with a view to increase to 5 days per week within the first 2 years. Pay is on a pro rata wage.
We are an training provider offering vocational training to 14-18 year olds. And now Post 16 from September 26.
The learners complete Functional English & maths alongside their qualifications. From September alongside Functional skills we would like PSHE and employability skills delivered to our post 16 students.
We are looking for a candidate who is competent within English, Maths, employability and pshe skills, and are able to plan creatively and adapt their teaching to meet the individual needs of the learner. Some teaching will be on a 1-1 basis but mostly small group classes of no more than 5 learners.
The right candidate will be qualified to teach functional English and maths and have a good knowledge of all assessment paperwork. You should be able to give feedback on each learner and track their progress as well as preparing them for on line assessments at the end of their course.
Other responsibilities will be:
- be able to work under pressure
- Have excellent Communication skills
- Being flexible to change hours and days as and when needed
- Having knowledge of schemes of work
- writing daily feedback and termly reports
- have some experience with learners that may have behaviour/Emotional difficulties or a learning disability
- Keeping your classroom space clean and tidy
- To be prepared for timetable changes
