We are currently looking for an experienced AutoCAD Draughtsperson to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong technical background who enjoys working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
The Role
As an AutoCAD Draughtsperson, you will be responsible for producing accurate technical drawings and detailed manufacturing information for bespoke joinery projects. You will work closely with our production, estimating, and project management teams to ensure designs are practical, compliant, and ready for manufacture.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce detailed 2D AutoCAD drawings for bespoke joinery projects.
- Prepare manufacturing drawings, schedules, and cutting lists.
- Interpret architects' drawings and construction specifications.
- Liaise with clients, architects, contractors, and internal departments where required.
- Ensure all drawings comply with project specifications and relevant building regulations.
- Amend drawings following client comments and design revisions.
- Support production by providing accurate technical information.
- Maintain organised drawing records and project documentation.
- Assist with technical problem-solving throughout the project lifecycle.
Essential Requirements
- Proven experience using AutoCAD in a joinery, woodworking, construction, or manufacturing environment.
- Excellent knowledge of AutoCAD.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and construction drawings.
- Strong understanding of technical detailing and manufacturing processes.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Skills
- Experience within the timber joinery or fire door industry.
- Knowledge of bespoke joinery manufacturing.
- Understanding of timber materials and construction methods.
- Experience preparing schedules and production information.
- Knowledge of current building regulations and fire door standards would be advantageous.
