We are looking for an established and experienced Band 6 currently working in a Breast Unit setting within Clinical Imaging department, who is looking for a new challenge.

The post-holder is expected to deliver of high quality and efficient patient services in defined clinical areas working as part of the multidisciplinary team.

Attend weekly capacity meetings, liaising with Planned Care to ensure clinics are booked optimally and the service runs smoothly
Take lead in Quality Assurance, liaising closely with the unit Superintendent
To become competent in the use of all digital equipment and peripheries
To perform high quality mammograms on all women attending the Breast Unit in order to demonstrate or rule out breast cancer
To perform all mammography with adherence to IR(ME)R and local radiation protection rules
To undertake all QA tests on digital x-ray and ultrasound equipment in accordance with the national and local guidelines
To work swiftly and efficiently in order to maintain the workflow of a busy department
To assist in any interventional procedures:
Fine needle aspirations
Needle core biopsies
Stereotactic guided procedures
Vacuum-assisted biopsies
Wire localisations
