We are a vibrant charity, community playgroup based in Church Halls in. Warden Hill. With over 50 years of dedicated service, our charity-run playgroup is managed by a committed committee of parents who are elected annually at our AGM each September. We operate 9-3 Monday to Friday term time only. We take children from 2-4 years old. We are a packaway setting.
Job Summary
We are seeking a qualified and dedicated professional to join our team as an Early Years SENCO Practitioner. This position requires a passionate individual who is committed to providing exceptional care and support to children with special educational needs and/or disabilities in an early years setting. This role will mostly be on site but will also be made of a set number of admin hours per week. Responsibilities
- Manage SEND provision, ensuring individual requirements ae met.
- Monitor and record children's development and support children with special needs.
- Support children with special educational needs through tailored teaching strategies and behavior management techniques.
- Foster effective communication with children, parents, and team members to ensure a cohesive learning experience.
- Liaise with external support agencies such as local authority and health professionals.
- collaborate with management for effective SEN provision
- Assist in staff training on inclusive practices.
- Assist with toddler care and preschool activities, ensuring safety and nurturing emotional well-being.
- Implement behavior management strategies to encourage positive conduct and social interaction among children.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and colleagues.
- Develop and implement personalised plans for children with special educational needs
Requirements
- Level 3 qualification in early years education
- Experience as a SENCO in early years
- DBS check and satisfactory references
- Knowledge of safeguarding children and pocedures
- Understanding of EYFS
- Ability to assess childrens development
- Caring and compassionate towards diverse needs
- Be able to unpack and pack away large amounts of play equipment daily.
