That's why we're looking for an exceptional Student Success & Development Manager.
Your job is to know our students.
To know where they are, where they're trying to get to, whether they're progressing at the level they're capable of, what's getting in their way and what could take them to the next level.
You'll have a bird's-eye view of the student journey, working closely with pupils, parents and our teaching team.
Sometimes that means identifying a student who's beginning to fall behind and intervening early.
But Student Success isn't only about struggling students.
A pupil might already be achieving an A — but be capable of an A*.
They might be academically excellent but lack consistency.
They might be achieving highly but struggle under exam pressure.
They might be doing everything required — and simply need someone to raise the bar again.
Your role is to help every student, including our highest performers, continually ask:
"What does my next level look like?"
We want someone who can help ambitious young people raise their standards, build confidence, develop discipline and maximise their potential.
You'll Bring Energy
We want you to become someone our pupils trust, respect and look up to.
You'll celebrate progress, recognise effort and make students feel that the work they're putting in is noticed.
That might mean sending a student a voice note after seeing their assessment improve, recognising exceptional consistency, celebrating somebody breaking through a difficult topic or getting the whole student community fired up ahead of an important assessment.
You'll actively bring energy, ambition and momentum into the Education Helps community.
What You'll Be Doing
- Developing a strong understanding of every student's goals, ambitions, current performance and potential
- Monitoring assessments, homework, attendance, engagement and academic trajectory
- Identifying students who are beginning to fall behind and intervening early
- Identifying high-performing students who are capable of being pushed further
- Holding regular 1-to-1 student check-ins
- Helping students understand what's currently preventing them from reaching the next level
- Creating clear action plans and following through on them
- Holding students accountable to the standards required for ambitious A/A* goals
- Knowing when a student needs support, when they need encouragement and when they need to be challenged
- Working closely with our Maths teachers to understand individual strengths, weaknesses and priorities
- Ensuring students make full use of the teaching, resources and additional support available to them
- Conducting regular progress review conversations with pupils and parents
- Helping parents understand where their child stands, how they're progressing and what needs to happen next
- Coordinating between students, parents and teachers so important information doesn't fall through the cracks
- Running engaging mindset, performance and student-development sessions
- Helping students develop discipline, consistency, resilience, confidence, effective study habits and personal responsibility
- Supporting students with setbacks, disappointing assessments and periods of low motivation
- Celebrating exceptional progress, effort, consistency and achievement
- Bringing positive energy to our student communities through messages, voice notes, recognition and encouragement
- Maintaining oversight of students requiring additional intervention
- Following interventions through to measurable outcomes
As you develop within the position, there may also be opportunities to take greater ownership of long-term student relationships, programme continuation and renewal conversations with families.

These shouldn't be generic motivational talks.
They should leave students thinking differently about their performance and, importantly, doing something differently afterwards.

Educational Background
Experience within education is highly desirable.
A background in teaching, tutoring, mentoring, coaching or student support would be particularly valuable.
As Education Helps specialises in A-Level Mathematics, a strong mathematical background would be a significant advantage.
We would particularly welcome applications from Maths teachers, former teachers, tutors or experienced educators who understand what it takes for a student to progress towards the highest grades but are interested in supporting young people beyond traditional classroom teaching.

The Person We Want

Someone who notices the student who's slipping.

Someone who can send an unexpected voice note telling a pupil how proud we are of what they're doing.

We want someone who can lift students up while continually raising their expectations of themselves.
