About MODUS Super Series
MODUS Super Series is a live televised darts tournament broadcast six days a week, fifty weeks a year, from our purpose-built studio in Portsmouth, Hampshire. Our output is distributed internationally on Pluto TV across the UK, Europe, Canada and Latin America, reaching a global darts audience every single day of the year.
We are a small, ambitious team producing broadcast output at a scale and frequency that few UK production companies attempt. The channel does not go off air.
The Role
We are looking for a Media and Marketing Executive to own how MODUS Super Series speaks to the outside world.
This is a media-first role. You will run editorial our website, write the stories that come off the back of every broadcast week, and hold the relationships with press, partners and the wider darts media that our profile depends on. Alongside that, you will plan and deliver the marketing activity that drives channel viewership, ticket sales and website traffic.
You will work closely with our social media and content team, but you will not manage them. This position sits alongside that department as an independent seat and reports directly to the Management Team.
Join us as a Marketing & Media Executive and become a vital part of an innovative team dedicated to making impactful connections through strategic marketing! Your energy, expertise, and enthusiasm will help shape our brand’s future while advancing your career in a supportive environment that values your growth.
Duties
- Own editorial on the MODUS Super Series website, including news, player pages and marketing, and keep it accurate and current
- Write and publish weekly news stories, match reports, previews and features to a professional editorial standard
- Write and issue press releases for tournaments, signings, commercial announcements and business news
- Build and hold relationships with darts media, national and regional press, broadcast partners and specialist outlets
- Place stories proactively rather than distributing them and hoping
- Service commercial partners and sponsors, delivering agreed marketing commitments and reporting on them
- Plan and deliver marketing campaigns that drive viewership, ticket sales and website traffic
- Support player and on-air talent media activity, including interviews, quotes and announcements
- Maintain brand and editorial consistency across everything published under the MSS name
- Monitor coverage, track performance and report results to the Management Team
What You Will Need
- Excellent written English, with the ability to publish to a professional standard without supervision
- Demonstrable experience writing news, features, match reports or press releases for publication
- A working knowledge of darts, including its players, calendar, governing bodies and competitive landscape. This is essential, not desirable
- Website and content management system experience
- Experience of press and media relations
- The ability to plan and deliver a marketing campaign from brief to measured result
- Highly organised and self-motivated, able to prioritise across competing deadlines
- Meticulous accuracy. We operate in a sport with an active betting market, and a factual error in published output is a credibility problem, not a typo
- Flexibility to work across a seven-day operation, including weekends
- SEO, Google Analytics and email marketing
Helpful, But Not Essential
- Sports media, press office, governing body or rights holder experience
- Photoshop, Premiere Pro or Canva
- Photography or video
- Sponsorship or partnership marketing experience
- A relevant degree in journalism, communications, marketing or sports media
What We Offer
- A direct reporting line to the Management Team and real ownership of your area
- A brand new website to take on and make your own
- Access to elite darts players and a broadcast property with a genuine international audience
- The opportunity to build a press and media function and run it your way
- A small team where your work is visible and your contribution counts
Pay: From £30,000.00 per year
Work Location: In person
