We are seeking a time-served Manual Lathe Turner with proven experience in the machining of high-precision components from a wide range of materials, including both metals and engineering plastics. The successful candidate will be capable of working from detailed engineering drawings, maintaining tight tolerances, and producing quality parts to exact customer specifications.
Applicants should have a strong understanding of conventional turning techniques, tooling selection, machine setup, and inspection procedures, with a focus on accuracy, efficiency, and quality workmanship. Experience machining both one-off and small batch components would be advantageous.
Previous experience operating Colchester, DS&G, or XYZ ProTURN/ProtoTRAK lathes is preferred, although candidates with transferable skills from similar manual and semi-CNC turning environments will also be considered. The ability to work independently, problem-solve on the shop floor, and contribute positively within a busy precision engineering workshop is essential.
