We are seeking an experienced, friendly, hardworking and proactive female Senior Support Worker to join our supported living and outreach service. The successful candidate will be able to start as soon as the required enhanced checks have been completed.
You will be joining a growing support service that requires a competent and confident Senior Support Worker to provide leadership and promote consistent, high-quality practice across our services. Working closely with the Supported Living Manager, you will help implement strategies, ensure compliance, and support the delivery of positive outcomes for the people we support.
Key duties include:
- Supporting and supervising Support Workers to deliver best practice and meet expected quality standards.
- Maintaining compliance with relevant regulatory and service standards.
- Maintaining accurate records, support plans and documentation.
- Providing person-centred support that promotes independence, choice and dignity.
- Reviewing and updating risk assessments and support plans.
- Developing your own knowledge and practice to contribute to continuous service improvement.
- Building respectful and trusting relationships with supported individuals, creating a safe and supportive environment.
- Supporting individuals to develop confidence and independence with daily tasks, including maintaining their tenancy.
- Building effective working relationships with colleagues across the service.
- Developing strong communication links with internal and external stakeholders.
- Working in partnership with external agencies to maximise opportunities and build strong support networks for the people we support.
This is an exciting opportunity to join Verus Care & Support Ltd., with a supportive management team and opportunities for training, development and progression within the company.
- £14 per hour, plus sleep-in allowance
- 40 hours per week, with overtime available
- Flexible working required, including weekdays, weekends, evenings and sleep-ins on a rota basis
- 24-hour service, operating 365 days a year
- Focus on providing high-quality support and guidance
- Overtime opportunities available, including providing cover and support across other local services
- Participation in the on-call rota on a rotational basis, included within the salary
What do you need?
- Level 3 qualification in Health & Social Care or willingness to work towards
- A minimum of 12 months experience or knowledge of child-centred, therapeutic models.
- Experience of working with people with additional needs, with a focus on Autism and Mental Health
- Experience of CSE and CCE
- Great communication skills, naturally caring, flexible and resilient.
- You need to be able to work flexibly covering long day shifts, weekends and sleeps.
Experience & Qualifications
- Level 3 or above in Health & Social Care or willingness to work towards (Essential)
- Minimum of 1 years’ senior support experience or above. (Essential)
- DBS on Update System. (Desired)
