Overview
We are seeking an experienced GCP and AppSheet Consultant to conduct a comprehensive review of an existing AppSheet deployment and supporting Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environment. The objective is to assess the current architecture, identify any gaps against best practices, and provide recommendations to improve security, governance, integration, and operational efficiency.
This is an initial short-term engagement, estimated at up to 5 days, with the potential for follow-on remediation and implementation work.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct a Well-Architected Review of the existing AppSheet and GCP environment.
- Assess the current AppSheet implementation and architecture against industry and Google best practices.
- Review integrations between AppSheet, databases, and Microsoft SharePoint.
- Evaluate whether existing integrations are correctly configured, secure, scalable, and fit for purpose.
- Review and provide recommendations for Single Sign-On (SSO) integration with Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD).
- Assess the current AppSheet billing and tenancy model and determine whether migration to a native GCP billing platform is required.
- Provide guidance on migrating AppSheet environments created prior to Google's acquisition into a centrally managed GCP billing structure.
- Perform a security assessment across the workload, including:
- Identity and access management
- Authentication and authorisation controls
- Data security
- Platform governance
- Compliance considerations
- Produce a findings report with prioritised recommendations and remediation actions.
- Support the creation of a Statement of Work (SOW) outlining scope, findings, and any recommended next-phase activities.
Required Skills & Experience
Essential
- Extensive hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Strong expertise in Google AppSheet architecture, deployment, and administration.
- Experience conducting cloud architecture and well-architected reviews.
- Knowledge of AppSheet integrations with databases, APIs, and Microsoft SharePoint.
- Experience implementing and troubleshooting SSO integrations with Microsoft Entra ID.
- Strong understanding of cloud security principles and best practices.
- Experience producing technical assessments and executive-level recommendations.
Desirable
- Google Cloud certifications.
- Experience with AppSheet migration and billing model transitions.
- Experience in cloud governance and compliance frameworks.
- Previous consulting or advisory engagement experience.
