The Role
This is a highly professional, driving-focused position operating across our varied distribution network.
Key Responsibilities:
- Defensive Driving: Safely and efficiently operate a modern fleet of Class 1 vehicles across UK highways, utilizing strong geographical road knowledge.
- Vehicle Versatility: Maintain a flexible, "can-do" approach, with the willingness to operate a variety of fleet vehicles and handle additional hours when necessary.
- Compliance Excellence: Execute accurate daily pre-drive and post-drive walkaround checks, keeping precise digital tacho logs in strict accordance with EU drivers' hours and working time regulations.
- Client Representation: Deliver outstanding, polite communication to both customers on-site and colleagues back at the depot pass.
- Cab Pride: Ensure your assigned vehicle cab is kept clean, tidy, and respected as your workspace.
Requirements
- Licence: A full, valid UK HGV Class 1 (C+E) driving licence is essential.
- Compliance Cards: Must possess an active Digital Tachograph Card and an up-to-date Driver CPC (DQC).
- Attributes: Reliable, hardworking, safety-conscious, and possessing a smart personal appearance.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to liaise smoothly with depot coordinators and on-site customers.
- Flexibility: A positive, cooperative attitude regarding varied transport runs and occasional overtime.
