Residential Support Worker
Location: Shrewsbury
Salary: £30,157.50 - £37.657.50 per annum including sleep in allowance
Per Hour: £13.25 - £15.25
Sleep in: £60.00 per night*
At our children’s home, we provide more than just care-we offer safety, love, and healing for children who’ve experienced trauma and adversity.
We have one vacancy to fill and are looking for the right person to join our dedicated, trauma-informed team.
This is about showing up, sticking around, and being the difference in a child’s life, even on the hard days.
Why This Work Matters:
Many of our children have experienced loss, fear, and trauma early in life. They don’t just need rules and routines - they need relationships, love, patience, and people who believe in them.
Your role will be to help them rebuild trust, feel safe in the world again, and start to thrive - not just survive.

We work in clinical partnership with Meadows Psychology, so every member of our team has direct, ongoing access to specialist support:
- A dedicated psychology consultant in the home every fortnight for consultation, reflective practice and skills sessions — plus fortnightly check-ins in between, which you can use for your own one-to-one reflective practice.
- Formulation-led practice. Brief formulations and regulation curves (Formulation Tree / 5Ps) so you genuinely understand each young person's history and presentation, rather than just responding to behaviour.
- On-demand learning through our library of interactive training videos on PACE, developmental trauma and attachment, and emotional regulation and distress tolerance.
- Advice when you need it, not just when it's scheduled — ad-hoc phone and email support between visits.
- Outcomes tracked and evidenced, so you can see the difference your work is making to the young people you care for, and to your own practice.
What You’ll Do:
- Create a safe, nurturing, and loving environment
- Use a trauma-informed, relational approach
- Help children build skills to cope with their past and shape their future
- Be a consistent, caring adult in their world- someone who stays
What We’re Looking For:

Feel free to send us a message for an informal chat - we'd be happy to answer any questions.
