Rate: £61–£67 per hour (PAYE), depending on grade and experience
Hours: 37 hours over 4½ days
Location: Warrington, Cheshire (hybrid – minimum 3 days a week on site)
Our client, a leading engineering partner delivering design on a major UK nuclear programme, is expanding its E&I and control systems design team in Warrington. We're recruiting design engineers at both Engineer and Senior level, across electrical and PES/PLC control system design.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Delivering, supporting and checking design packages to meet safety, functional and business needs
- Electrical: small power, lighting and earthing design, including cable and lighting calculations (Trimble ProDesign/Amtech and DIALux evo)
- Control: PES/PLC-based control system design, concept through to handover
- Senior level: leading a small team of control system design engineers, planning and assigning work, and supporting design assurance reviews
- Providing design support through procurement, construction, installation and commissioning
- Supporting and developing early-career engineers
What You'll Bring:
- HNC (or above) in a relevant electrical or control engineering discipline
- Incorporated Engineer status, or working towards it
- Minimum 3 years' design experience on multidiscipline projects, concept to handover (5+ for senior roles)
- SC security clearance, or eligibility to obtain it
- Sound knowledge of the relevant engineering standards
Desirable: SCADA/PLC and network architecture experience, process/radiometric instrumentation, prior nuclear or defence project experience, BEng and/or Chartered Engineer status.
