Senior Accountant – Accountancy Practice

We are partnering with a long-established independent accountancy practice in Stoke-on-Trent that is looking to recruit a Senior Accountant to support continued growth.
This position offers the chance to manage a varied SME portfolio within a stable, well-structured firm that encourages ownership, professional development, and long-term progression.
The Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Managing a portfolio of SME and owner-managed business clients
- Preparing and reviewing statutory accounts for Ltd companies, sole traders, and partnerships
- Producing corporation tax computations and returns
- Acting as a primary contact for clients, handling day-to-day queries and meetings
- Reviewing work completed by junior staff and offering guidance where needed
- Contributing to the smooth running and ongoing development of the practice
The Ideal Candidate
You will:
- Have recent experience working within a UK accountancy practice
- Be ACA / ACCA qualified or qualified by experience
- Be comfortable managing client relationships independently
- Have strong technical capability across accounts and tax
- Be organised, commercially minded, and able to work with minimal supervision
