Maths Teacher – Robocode Long-Term Programme
Robocode is looking for an enthusiastic, energetic and confident Maths Teacher to join our Long-Term Programme (LTP).
The successful candidate will deliver engaging, challenging and well-structured maths sessions, helping children develop their mathematical knowledge, confidence, problem-solving skills and enjoyment of the subject.
Essential Requirements
- Minimum Grade 7 in GCSE Maths
- Grade A or above in A-Level Maths
- Previous experience working with children or young people
- Strong mathematical knowledge and understanding
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Confident speaking and presenting to groups
- Ability to explain mathematical concepts clearly and effectively
- Good classroom management skills
- Reliable, organised and professional
- Energetic and enthusiastic when working with pupils
- Able to adapt teaching to different abilities and learning styles
- Passionate about helping children learn and succeed
Highly Desirable
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
- Current or previous experience working as a Maths Teacher in a school
- Experience delivering the UK Maths National Curriculum
- Experience planning and delivering lessons independently
- Experience assessing pupil progress and providing meaningful feedback
- Experience working with pupils of different ages and abilities
Key Responsibilities

- Plan and prepare appropriate activities and learning materials
- Make lessons enjoyable, interactive and challenging
- Support pupils who require additional help
- Challenge pupils who are working at a higher level
- Encourage problem-solving, reasoning and independent thinking
- Monitor pupil progress and provide constructive feedback
- Create a positive, safe and supportive learning environment
- Communicate effectively with pupils, parents/carers and colleagues
- Maintain good classroom behaviour and professional standards
- Work as part of the wider Robocode team
- Follow all Robocode safeguarding, health and safety and behaviour procedures
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who is confident, approachable, enthusiastic and passionate about education. You should be able to build positive relationships with pupils while maintaining clear boundaries and high expectations.
You should be able to communicate effectively with children, make complex mathematical ideas easy to understand and adapt your approach depending on the needs of the class.
A qualified and experienced Maths Teacher would be highly desirable, as we are looking for someone who understands what makes an effective lesson and can confidently manage a classroom environment.
Most importantly, we want someone who genuinely enjoys working with children and can bring energy, positivity and enthusiasm to every session.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced teacher or strong Maths graduate with teaching experience who wants to be part of Robocode's growing Long-Term Programme.
Pay: £15.00-£20.00 per hour
