We are seeking a skilled Joiner/Dryliner to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have experience in various aspects of carpentry and drylining, with a strong understanding of construction processes. This role offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects, contributing to high-quality building finishes and structural installations. The position is paid and suitable for individuals committed to craftsmanship and safety standards within the construction industry.
Duties
- Installing drywall, plasterboard, and other lining materials in accordance with project specifications
- Cutting, shaping, and fitting timber components for internal and external structures
- Assisting with the installation of roofing, masonry, and other structural elements as required
- Operating hand tools and power tools safely to complete tasks efficiently
- Reading and interpreting schematics, technical drawings, and construction plans
- Performing basic fabrication work to customise components for specific projects
- Ensuring all work complies with health and safety regulations and site procedures
- Assisting with plumbing, electrical, or welding tasks if necessary, supporting multidisciplinary teams
- Conducting quality checks on completed work to ensure standards are met or exceeded
Requirements
- Proven experience in carpentry, drylining, or related construction trades
- Knowledge of roofing, plumbing, welding, electrical systems, plastering, fabrication, masonry, and construction painting is advantageous
- Proficiency with hand tools and power tools used in joinery and drylining tasks
- Ability to read schematics and technical drawings accurately
- Strong understanding of health and safety practices within a construction environment
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced setting
- Relevant construction qualifications or certifications are preferred but not essential
