Gym Junky is a brand new fitness cafe opening soon, and we're looking for an experienced, passionate Chef to join our founding team.
Built around healthy food, speciality coffee, protein shakes and a strong sense of community, Gym Junky is more than just a cafe. It's a lifestyle brand dedicated to helping people fuel their bodies and build better habits.
As we prepare to open our doors, we're looking for a chef who takes pride in producing fresh, high-quality food, thrives in a fast-paced kitchen and wants to be part of an exciting new business from day one.
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience working as a Chef or Cook in a commercial kitchen
- Excellent food preparation and cooking skills
- Strong knowledge of food hygiene and HACCP procedures
- Experience with allergen management
- Ability to manage stock rotation and minimise food waste
- Experience working under Environmental Health standards
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy service periods
- Reliable, punctual and hardworking
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- A passion for creating fresh, healthy and consistently high-quality food
- An interest in fitness, health and wellbeing is a bonus
Desirable Experience
- Breakfast, brunch or cafe kitchen experience
- Menu preparation and recipe development
- Stock ordering and supplier management
- Food cost control and portion management
- Kitchen opening and closing procedures
- Deliveroo, Uber Eats and online order preparation
- Experience working in a fast-paced cafe, restaurant or hospitality environment
