Plas Pencelli is a vibrant Outdoor Education Centre owned by Swindon Borough Council. With a strong team ethos and a commitment to delivering high-quality, off site educational experiences, we primarily serve school groups during term time. Our experienced staff, excellent equipment, and access to premier South Wales venues ensure impactful and adventurous learning.
About the role
Plas Pencelli is a vibrant local authority outdoor education centre set in beautiful grounds on the edge of the Brecon Beacons. We provide high‑quality residential outdoor activity programmes for young people and adults, and we’re looking for friendly, reliable people to join our busy kitchen team.
As a Casual Kitchen Assistant, you’ll support our cooks in keeping the kitchen and dining areas running smoothly and to the highest standards of cleanliness. You’ll help with food handling and storage, serving meals, clearing away, dishwashing, and cleaning floors and surfaces. The centre holds a 5‑star food hygiene rating.
Key Details:
- Age: Minimum of 16 years of age.
- Working Hours: Due to the nature of outdoor centre work, hours can vary. The shifts are either 7am to 12 noon or 4pm to 8pm.
- Training: Full training will be given.
- Safeguarding: Full compliance with child protection policies; DBS clearance required
