About the Role
Construo Recruitment is working in partnership with a leading construction and infrastructure business to recruit a Senior Estimator / Quantity Surveyor.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced commercial professional to take a leading role in tendering, estimating, and quantity surveying activities across a diverse portfolio of refurbishment and new-build projects. The successful candidate will play a key role in securing new business, managing project financial performance, and supporting the company's long-term growth strategy.
Working closely with operational teams, business leaders, and supply chain partners, you will lead the preparation of high-quality tender submissions and provide commercial oversight throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the management, planning, and production of tender submissions for projects up to £5 million in value
Prepare detailed estimates, cost plans, and Bills of Quantities
Manage Cost Value Reconciliation (CVR) reporting and financial forecasting
Coordinate bid contributors and ensure submissions meet governance and quality standards
Negotiate with subcontractors and suppliers to secure competitive pricing
Prepare interim valuations, payment applications, and final accounts
Support procurement and tender evaluation processes
Liaise with senior stakeholders to agree commercial strategies and tender returns
Monitor project costs and identify opportunities for value engineering and efficiency improvements
Represent the business at client meetings and tender interviews
Promote best practice in health, safety, environmental, and commercial management
Requirements
Degree or HNC in a construction-related discipline (or equivalent industry experience)
Proven experience in both estimating and quantity surveying within the construction sector
Experience working on refurbishment and new-build projects
Strong knowledge of tendering, procurement, and bid management processes
Experience preparing CVRs, project forecasts, and financial reports
Good understanding of NEC and JCT forms of contract
Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
CSCS Card and full UK Driving Licence
