About You:
Douglas City Council is committed to providing high-quality public services across our community. We are dedicated to fairness, collaboration, and delivering outcomes that benefit the people of Douglas.
Are you an experienced customer service professional with management skills, judgement and commitment to making a meaningful difference to people’s homes and communities?
We are looking for an ambitious, approachable and highly organised Assistant Housing Manager (services) to join our Housing & Property team. This is an excellent opportunity to take a senior operational role in shaping and delivering responsive, high-quality housing services for tenants across the Council’s housing stock.
You will manage a dedicated customer services and sheltered housing function, helping residents access safe, well-managed homes and the support they need to live independently. From overseeing allocations, tenancies, income collection and estate services to developing staff, improving performance and representing the Council with partner agencies, no two days will be the same.
You must be educated to A-level standard or equivalent and have substantial management experience, including experience of managing a team and delivering a customer-facing service. You will need excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. You should also have the ability to build productive relationships and be able to influence a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
If you are a confident people manager with strong customer-service values, with the ability to manage complex and sensitive matters, with a genuine commitment to public service, we would welcome an application from you.
To apply or find out more information, please visit our Job Train portal via the Council’s website. For an informal chat about the role please contact Jay Chatwood, Housing & Property Operation’s Manager, [email protected]. Alternatively, you can contact HR on (696455).
The closing date for the receipt of completed applications is Sunday, 13th September 2026.
