Duties
- Lead and supervise kitchen staff to ensure efficient food production and service
- Prepare, cook, and present a variety of dishes in accordance with established recipes and standards
- Oversee food safety procedures, hygiene standards, and cleanliness within the kitchen environment
- Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and ensure proper storage of ingredients
- Develop new menu ideas in collaboration with management to enhance customer satisfaction
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff to improve skills and maintain high-quality standards
- Coordinate with front-of-house teams to ensure smooth service delivery
- Monitor portion control, presentation, and consistency of all dishes served
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times
Requirements
- Proven experience in a professional kitchen environment, preferably within a restaurant or hospitality setting
- Supervising experience with the ability to manage a team effectively
- Strong knowledge of food production, preparation techniques, and culinary trends
- Excellent cooking skills across various cuisines and styles
- Solid understanding of food safety standards and hygiene practices
- Leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and organise a team
- Experience in food service operations including serving customers when necessary
- Good organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
- Relevant qualifications in culinary arts or hospitality management are desirable but not essential
