The Warehouse MHE In-House Trainer is responsible for delivering high-quality, compliant, and engaging training on Material Handling Equipment (MHE) to warehouse colleagues.
Main Responsibilities
- The role ensures all operators are trained to the required standards, remain compliant with legislation and company policies, and operate equipment safely and efficiently.
- The trainer will support operational excellence by developing employee competence, promoting a strong safety culture, and continually improving training standards across the site.
- Focus on prevention by keeping up to date with equipment and employee training
- Participate in continued training & development
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation for all training activities, including, training records, and compliance certifications
- Training on MHE equipment as planned by WMT & Facilities Manager
- Induction of new colleagues as per the agreed process
- Suggest improvements or new programs
- Provide support and guidance to new employees
Job Skills
- Extensive experience operating warehouse Material Handling Equipment.
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations and logistics.
- Thorough knowledge of safe operating procedures.
- Ability to assess operator competence fairly and consistently.
- Experience developing and maintaining training records.
- Ability to produce reports and analyse training data.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Accredited MHE Instructor qualification from a recognised accrediting body (for example RTITB, ITSSAR, AITT or NPORS where appropriate).
- Current operator certification for the MHE categories they are authorised to instruct.
- Up-to-date knowledge of current UK health and safety legislation relating to workplace transport and warehouse operations.
- Full authorisation to deliver operator training on behalf of the employer in accordance with the accrediting body's requirements.
